The Ultimate IT-Girl List
Welcome to 2025! I hope everyone’s had a great first week of the year. If you haven’t that’s ok. Sometimes the Universe sends up life lessons when you least expect it: soak it up and start fresh for week two.
This time of year, everything feels possible. If you're like me, the vision boards have been made, the fitness plan hasn’t flopped yet, and you’re the most hydrated and alcohol free you probably will be for the rest of the year. Will your resolutions last the month?
If you’re lacking the inspo to become your dream girl self, here’s one of my favourite go-to tips. The It-Girl list. You know that TV character that you wish you could dress like? Or your fave influencer that literally has your dream life? With the It-Girl list, you can use these inspirations to influence your own life. Let me explain.
Step one. Create a list of every person that inspires, motivates, influences you in some way. They can literally be anyone. Real, fictional, someone you actually know IRL, even cartoon! Write them all down.
Step two. The visuals. Get to Pinterest, make a board, save photos of your It-Girls here. Make it private if you’re shy.
Step three. The hard part. Now we have to pick apart these people in a totally non-creepy, psychoanalysing way. What is it exactly that you like about them? It could be as superficial as their hair (a la Serena VDW) or as deep as their absolute integrity. List these traits. These are your Dream Girl traits.
I’m a firm believer that we are an amalgamation of the people who inspire us in this life. Yes, we have our own spirit, hopes and dreams etc., but the people we surround ourselves with forms a huge part of our identity. Making this list will remind you what qualities are most important to you, what values you hold dearest, what your ultimate Dream Girl self looks like. And by the power of manifestation, what you will start looking like.
Deep, right?
Anyway, here’s some of my favourite it-girls inspiring me in 2025. They’re up on my Pinterest, too! Oo, did I also mention I'm helping you find your Dream Girl style this year, too? I’ve recently launched a monthly style guide newsletter, and the first one is out now! It’s called Made You Look, you can find it here xo. Ok, shameless self plug over. Enjoy!
Lois’ It-Girl List
Blair Waldorf
Naturally. GG is one of my favourite shows. The glamour, the gossip. New York. Scandals. Gimme. And I’m literally in love with Blair’s character. Her ambition, her stubborn will, her high expectations. I’m claiming this energy.
Ariana Grande
Yes, I’m an Arianator, sue me. This girl made 2024 her bitch. I’m here for girl success, all day, everyday. I also love her feminine grace, like she’s killing it but she’s killing it while looking incredible?? Love that for her. Plus, her songs are on all of my manifesting playlists. Affirmations in songs give me life.
Scarlett Frazer
One of my FAVE comfort creators!! I started watching Scarlett around two years ago, now I never skip a video. She’s an Aussie creator inspiring girls everywhere to become their ‘gorgeous glamourous selves’. She’s literally the reason I’m now studying magazine journalism to go into fashion. She made me realise it’s ok to embrace your inner girly girl. And, have you seen my blog? I’ve never looked back.
Cher Horowitz
Bit superficial. She just reminds me to dress everyday as if I’m on TV. Also love her bubbly, carefree attitude. I need some of that. :’)
Tam Kaur
If you do not know this girl, get to know. Tam was everywhere in 2024: she’s successful on every social media under the sun, she’s an author, motivator, influencer and (the best one) a new Birkin mum. She is killing it, and I can’t wait to see what she does in ‘25. If anyone can motivate you, it’s this girl.
Elle Woods
Oh, she’s just the best!!! I love this film. It’s a cinematic masterpiece, no notes. My favourite quality about Elle is that even when she could so easily hate on other girls for being mean, or just give up when a bad situation comes her way, she goes and gets a manicure, vents, and then moves on. THAT is what I want to see this year.
Happy girls have a fresh set.
Regina George
And to oppose the above, I give you Regina George. Yes, she isn’t the nicest girl ever. But in those rare moments, its better to be mean. This is something I’m trying to work on this year. Not being mean, but not being a pushover, which I think is worse. I can be a massive pushover, and I don’t want that energy this year. If that means I have to be a little mean, then I’m ok with that. (If that’s ok with you xxx.)
Also, I dream about her LV bag.
EmRata
Aka the perfect off-duty model style icon around. I just want to be her ok.
Audrey Hepburn
I’ve always loved Audrey. Her grace and manner is just mesmerising to watch, she was brilliant actress and public force. She should be on everyone’s list imo. We could all stand to be a little more Audrey.
Simran Kaur
We love a financial queen. 2025 is is a bit of a grey area future-wise, so your girl needs to be financially smart this year. Simran is so helpful with this, but more importantly she is a manifestation icon. Seriously, look at her insta. I think she’s a wizard.
Haley Dunphy
This is very niche. Haley just reminds me to pay attention to my siblings (sometimes I just forget I have them oops) and also that it is ok to mess up? Go hug your sister, you’ll thank me later.
Freddy My Love
Oh, the elegance! Freddy’s princess energy is what I need in ‘25. She always looks polished and classy, invests in quality fashion, and just is the moment.
Nyane
One of my fave beauty influencers, she is flawless. And so unique in her content creation??
Sharpay Evans
The Diva Energy. Need I say more. I actually rewatched HSM the other day for pure vibes and we did Miss Evans so dirty. She was the main character of her own story!! She was so ambitious and didn’t care what others thought!! She was a drama geek for crying out loud. We were gaslit into hating her. I will die on this hill.
This was so hard!! There’s so many more It-Girls on my list.
Make 2025 the year you become a Dream Girl.
xoxo,
Lois
